Closet Nib
Closet Nib
Why is my Cat acting so strange?
She has been with us for two years now. We rescued her as a kitten. She is not the affectionate type. Usually she keeps to herself and hides in the closet unless, she wants food. Well recently, she has become very attached to the kids 9 & 4. In a way that as soon as my 9 year old goes to school she begins to meow. Then she goes in and out of his room as if she wants me to see something. I have followed her in there and looked around but, can't figure it out. When she finally calms down, she will not separate from my 4 year old. Two days ago, she bit my 4 year old. Not hard, just a light nib. At night she will not sleep anywhere else other than with the kids. It's just very strange and unlike her normal behavior. We noticed her doing this about three weeks agon.
No she was not a feral or a stray. We adopted her when she was two months old.
she just happened to have been born to a stray mother in the county pound.
She is mothering your kids. She is nipping at them when their naughty and looking for them when they are missing. She has adopted them. She can't figure you out or adults so that is why the hiding - she might have been abused a little when she was a kitten, but her motherly instinks are comming out with your kids. She sleeps with your kids because she considers them hers and loves them and wants to be there to protect them. What might be considered normal behaviour to you - isnt for her. All animals all have their own personalities and hers is a motherly one. As the kids grow this will settle down as they become less and less interested in her and when she makes up her mind that her mothering duties are done.
