Do doorknob bore holes come in a standard size?
I'm looking for glass doorknobs online to replace my old brass doorknobs on our bedroom doors. The glassknobs I found online come with “rosette” plates that require a bore hole measuring less than 2 inches. They also offer doorknobs compatible with pre-drilled 2 1/8 inch bore hole. Are either of these sizes the "standard"? How do I know which size I would need for my doors? Here are the knobs I found: http://www.lookintheattic.com/dk4494pbset.html
You didn’t say which handset you now have. So I’ll try and explain the best I can. NO, the link you provided, is not for a standard cutout today!
Here are two links for handsets that most people use for bedrooms. The only difference is one has a lock and the other doesn’t.

If you have one of the above types of hand sets or similar styles, you need to take off one side of the existing Door Knob.

Just remove the two screws on the face plate, and slide everything off the center shaft!
On some handsets (the inner handle shaft has a small 1/4inch slot for a lock latch to hold the handle together. You need to depress that tab to remove the Door Handle, and then remove the two screws that hold the face plate to the door, and then take your measurements.
Most home improvement / hardware stores sell everything you need to convert from the newer to the older style knobs.
The standard cut out is 2-3/8 to 2-3/4 inch in diameter ( see below).
Yes you may have to enlarge the hole or add two rosettes to each door (one per side)!
